Privacy Policy

Last updated 1 September 2026 · Operated by Kagutsuchi Labs

This policy explains what Gamedrop collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It covers the Gamedrop mobile app and this website.

Who we are

Gamedrop is provided by Kagutsuchi Labs. For privacy questions or to request access, correction, or deletion of your data, email support@kagutsuchi.dev.

This website

The marketing site is static. We do not set analytics cookies or require an account to read these pages. Opening a library share link loads the public collection for that ID from our API so it can be shown in the browser. If you email us, we receive whatever you include in that message.

Information we collect in the app

Depending on how you use Gamedrop, we may collect:

  • Account. Email address, username, and a hashed password. We do not store your password in plain text.
  • Profile. Optional profile photo, which is stored on our servers (or object storage we use for uploads).
  • Library and social data. Games you save and their status (for example backlog or played), friend relationships, and friend requests.
  • Shared videos. URLs you submit, plus metadata, transcripts, and game titles we extract so we can match games and show you results.
  • Device and notifications. An installation identifier, push token, and platform so we can notify you when analysis finishes. You can turn notifications off in the app and in system settings.
  • Purchases. Subscription and entitlement status from Apple, Google, and our billing provider. We do not receive your full payment card number.
  • On-device data. Until you create an account, your library and some preferences can stay only on that device.

The app may ask for camera or photo library access so you can set a profile picture, and for notification permission. Granting those permissions is optional.

How we use it

  • Create and authenticate your account, and keep you signed in
  • Provide your library, friends, and video-to-game matching
  • Send optional notifications about share analysis
  • Enforce free-share limits and restore purchases
  • Operate, secure, and debug the service
  • Respond to your requests and legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information.

Processors and other services

We use companies that process data on our behalf to run Gamedrop. These currently include:

  • Cloud hosting and file storage (Amazon Web Services)
  • Push delivery (Firebase Cloud Messaging / Google)
  • In-app purchases (Apple, Google, and RevenueCat)
  • Video metadata and transcripts (Supadata)
  • Title extraction from transcripts (OpenAI)
  • Game catalog matching (IGDB / Twitch)

Those providers see only what they need to perform their service. Social platforms may also see a request when we fetch public metadata for a URL you submitted. Game covers and related catalog details come from third-party databases.

Retention

We keep account, library, share, and device records while your account is active and for a short period afterward as needed to operate the service or meet legal requirements. Cached video analysis may be reused so the same URL is not processed from scratch every time. On-device data remains until you clear app storage or uninstall.

Your choices

  • Update your username or profile photo in the app
  • Turn notifications off in Settings or in the system permission screen
  • Log out to end the current session on that device
  • Email support@kagutsuchi.dev to request a copy of your data or deletion of your account. In-app account deletion is not available yet.
  • Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple or Google account settings

If you live in a region with additional privacy rights (for example the GDPR or Australian Privacy Act), contact us and we will handle the request as required by law.

Children

Gamedrop is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.

Security and location

We use industry-standard measures such as HTTPS and hashed passwords. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Servers and backups currently run in AWS Asia Pacific (Sydney). Your information may be processed in other countries by the providers listed above.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of Gamedrop after an update means you accept the revised policy.
